I actually like to play the game I'm playing. But maybe that's just me.

Please help me understand why unattended play should benefit like this. Have no doubt that even if you are present chatting or using the browser, it is the significant group who are AFK that will also be rewarded, and the balances that have worked since attended piloting was changed will be undone.

I appreciate your interest in having the game play closer to your ideals, but you in exchange must accept that compromises need to exist, since your ideals are in obvious conflict with others.

Before this change, if manually piloting gets you there in 10 minutes, autopiloting gets you there in an hour.
After this change, if manually piloting gets you there in 10 minutes, autopiloting gets you there in 25 minutes.

Therefore, the change is irrelevant to people who are at their keyboard. It helps people who do not favor manual interaction (aka AFK play). It also makes AFK play less undesirable by making its time penalty softer.

AFK play from farming, mining, botting, and other stuff is already one of the bigger problems with Eve's gameplay. We don't need to add autopiloting to that list.

This change would be rewarding AFK play, by making it less detrimental than today's system. I see absolutely no need for this.

Want to do more? Travel manually. Want to be less bored? Autopilot and do something else. Moving resources is supposed to be an undertaking.

Travelling manually frees up more time to do whatever it is you were travelling to your destination for. Travelling via autopilot frees up more time to do things away from the game, while still getting to your destination.
